Whether you are old or young, there's nothing quite like settling in with a good book on a snowy day or snuggling down into an oversized pillow when you aren't feeling up to par. Creature comforts become even more important when you must deal with long term physical challenges or daily aches and pains.

The staff at Dynamic Living have collected an assortment of products and aids that can help make anyone more comfortable.

If you need to be sitting for an extended period of time, special function pillows can be very helpful:

  • A chair cushion that surrounds you on three sides can add more cushioning to a chair that has hard arms, and can increase the padding on the seat and back. Because of her posture, one of our customers would always prefer the same chair because the angle of the seat and back suited her very well. However, the chair was not padded on the arms, leaving her bruised. The chair cushion brought her comfort without having to give up the features of the chair that helped her.

  • A plush recliner can be arranged in hundreds of positions. If you lack the strength to maneuver the seat and back manually, the Pride Lift Chair Recliner has push button controls that will move the foot rest up or down and recline or raise the back for you. This can provide hours of relief and comfort as you can change positions with very little effort.

Some physical challenges wreak havoc with our personal thermostat, leaving us much too hot or much too cold:

  • Small gel packs, available at any pharmacy, can be frozen and applied to small areas to help you cool down. Or hand, toe and body warmers are small packets that create heat when exposed to air. Perfect for putting in your mitten, slipper or under a sweater to heat up those isolated spots

  • For people with hand inflammation discomforts, like Reynaud's or arthritis, there are gloves made out of a special material that will retain and build heat, keeping your hands toasty and flexible all day long while wicking away perspiration. These gloves for arthritis have no finger tips, allowing you to turn pages, do fine work, type or prepare a meal.

Sometimes it doesn't take a whole lot to make us more comfortable and the change that extra comfort brings to our quality of life can be pretty dramatic. Treat yourself to one of these comfort aids and make staying at home a little easier!
