The CAMEL (Complete Air Moving Elevating Lift) is a
state of the art inflatable cushion designed
to gently lift you up if you fall on the floor.
This system protects caregivers from back injuries because the CAMEL air lifting cushions do all the lifting when a patient or loved one falls down. It lifts the fallen person into a raised seated position of 21.5" to make it easier for them to stand or transfer to a nearby chair. The cushion also has a back rest that helps patients sit up without any manual assistance.
The CAMEL Patient Handling System comes with the following:
The inflatable cushion and carrying case. The cushion's surface is washable and can be disinfected if necessary.
2 rechargeable air compressors. It is recommended that the battery powered air pump remain plugged in and charging at all times to ensure that it will be ready when needed. With a second rechargeable compressor, you'll always have a backup.
A slide sheet. When necessary, this sheet will help caregivers slide a person onto the lift.
The CAMEL lifter is incredibly strong, but is also portable for your convenience. It can lift up to 700 pounds, but the unit itself only weighs 14 pounds. The air compressor is an easy to carry briefcase-style case and the CAMEL Cushion rolls up to be stored in a carrying case of its own. Other Details: | ![]() |

The CAMEL Air Lift Cushion is designed to handle large or bariatric patients who have trouble getting up off the floor by themselves. This is the perfect solution for caregivers, nurses, EMTs and other emergency personnel who are likely to be called to the scene of a fall.

"This is a plea for you to manufacture a version of this that would help my husband who suffers from severe muscle weakness. l) He is a tall man and can't stand or transfer from a 21.5 seat. 26" would be ideal. 2) he would be much less likely to fall out of the Camel if it had embracing arms that would keep him from falling sideways. 3) The price is prohibitive for home use for any but the very wealthy. Thanks for considering these issues." C.M., Los Angeles, CA
DL Response: We hear you, C.M, and we will pass along your comments to the manufacturer! We've been looking for tools to help people who have fallen in their homes and this is the first product we found that did not require installation and was easy to use. Pricing will fall as the need for this type of product increases and competition enters the marketplace.
