Whether bed bound or spending a lot of time in a wheelchair, the thin skin of the heel is a prime place for decubitis ulcers. The weight of the foot presses on the bone which presses on the tissue and skin that cover it. Trapped between the bone structure and bed or wheelchair surface, the tissue begins to decay from lack of blood circulation. The best cure is prevention. If your loved one remains in one place for more than a few minutes, the Comfort Heel Pillow envelopes their feet in softness. This cushioning allows for better circulation and prevents pressure sores. (Please Note: Even with the cushioning, repositioning every few hours is also important, so that the pressure points do not remain the same.)

These one size fits most Comfort Heel Pillows slip on easily and secure with an adjustable hook and loop tape strap. The 1" padding is thick and cushy so heels are padded and kept away from any irritating surfaces. The light blue polyester cover absorbs perspiration to help keep feet cool. The pillows can be machine washed and dried as needed.
