Worried about your patient or loved ones' fingers contracting?
With MS and other conditions, your joints can experience contractures which make your fingers curl tightly inward. Finger contraction is painful and can cause sores to develop inside the hand. The Posey® Finger Contracture Cushions keep the fingers slightly open, helping to prevent or heal sores. The open top of the cushion allows fingers to move freely, so your patient or loved one can still use their fingers to hold onto things or perform daily tasks as needed.
This cushion can be used on either hand. Three dividers separate the fingers and a pillow fits in the palm of the hand to prevent full contraction. They are filled with soft polyester filling making them comfortable to hold. A latex free elastic strap wraps around the palm of the hand to keep the cushion in place.
The soft, navy blue terrycloth fabric is machine washable and dryable. An anti-microbial treatment helps prevent the spread of germs if used for multiple patients.
