Unlike other bed rails, the HandiRail® does not actually attach to the bed. It features a 26" cross rail that is installed between the mattress and box spring. The HandiRail® uses the weight of the mattress and box spring to keep the rail in place and the rail legs to support your weight. So whether you are sitting or standing, you can rely on the stability of a bed rail that is securely supported in two places.
When the rail is not in use or you wish to change the bed linens, you can just pull the rail out from between the mattress and box spring.
