The Oster Electric Versatility Skillet has well designed features that separate this skillet from the competition:

The skillet "lift" can be set so that the skillet is slightly angled while you cook. That allows grease to drain to the lower side of the pan while you fry on the slightly raised side. (This control is under the temperature control knob.)
The temperature probe, which conducts the heat into the pan, can be inserted with one hand. (This might take some practice, but it can be done.) The probe also releases with one hand with the aid of a built-in quick release latch. No more struggling to separate the probe from the electric skillet!
The lid has a steam release vent. It also has a metal rim that looks nice and prevents the glass from chipping.
