General Info

You don't have to worry about stepping over the bathtub's edge.

The unique feature of this transfer bench is the swiveling seat. Whether you are transferring from a standing position, or from a wheel chair, the position of the seat makes it easier to approach. The seat pivots 90º and has a double safety lock to allow the seat to lock in position for a more secure transfer. There is also a seat belt for additional security.

 The transfer bench is available with a solid seat or one with hygienic cut-outs.

Some questions to answer before you order a transfer bench:

  • What is the distance from the bathroom floor to the tub's top edge?

  • What is the distance from inside the tub to the tub's top edge?

  • Are the two distances above dramatically different? If so you will want a bench that can adjust to provide a level surface.

Accessories

Need more height to clear the edge of your tub?

Extension Legs (DL6078E) are available for our pivoting bath benches. These extensions add up to 4 inches of clearance in 1" increments. Each leg is sold separately.

  • When using all four extension legs the weight capacity of the bench is only 250 pounds.

  • Raising the seat height may make the chair feel more wobbly. However, so long as the legs are attached securely, the bench will still be safe to use.

"Too complicated to work - wouldn't dare let my father try to work it on his own. If he doesn't get the seat locked into place with the weird little latch it's a guaranteed fall both getting in and out of the tub. I had to stand to latch it myself inside the tub. Also there's a huge metal plate under the seat - this will be impossible to clean especially in case of incontinence. There are no instructions for use included.
