This Timex Alarm Clock Radio has 4 buttons that can be used to save your favorite stations, just like you have in the car. Find the station, press the button until it beeps, and never have to search for it again! These pre-set tuning buttons let you switch back and forth between AM and FM without any additional programming. You can hear the traffic or weather reports and then switch to classical music, jazz or talk shows with ease. The clock comes with inserts that can be put under the buttons so that you'll have a picture and label to remind you what you will hear after you press the button.
The clock has many additional features that make it much easier than you'd expect to set up and use.
The clock comes with the correct time pre-set for the Eastern Standard time zone. One switch on the bottom of the unit changes it to any of the North American time zones. Another switch changes the time for daylight savings. And that's it! Once you are happy with your settings, move the "pre-set lock" switch to "on". After that you don't have to worry about anyone fiddling with the settings. Even if the clock is unplugged and there are no batteries in it, the clock will maintain the settings.
If you have favorite music that is hard to find on the radio, like show tunes or a favorite artist, you can plug an MP3 player into the clock and use the MP3/AUX button (the fifth button on the top of the clock) to listen.
Don't like bright dials while you sleep? You can adjust the backlight on the clock to bright, dim or off by pressing the large snooze button on the front of the clock.
2 "AA" batteries can be installed to maintain the display and ensure that the alarms still go off at the appropriate time in the event of a power outage. If you lose power often and need to be sure you are on time for work, this feature is for you!
The clock also has a snooze button and a radio antenna, if needed, to improve the signal.
We find the sound quality to be very solid, not 'tinny' like some clock radios. All the buttons that are used regularly are big and easy to find. The pre-set station buttons are the biggest, at ¾" diameter. Need a full featured Radio Alarm Clock that is easy to use? This is just right for you! |  |
