Have you ever pressed the wrong button on your remote and gotten your TV stuck in some weird mode that you can't get it out of? Or worse yet, you've hit the wrong combination of buttons and reprogrammed the remote. If this sounds familiar to you, replace your remote with the Tek Pal Simple TV Remote. It will significantly reduce your chances of hitting the wrong button and accidentally changing important settings.

The Tek Pal only has 6 big buttons:

  • Power

  • Volume Up

  • Volume Down

  • Channel Up

  • Channel Down

  • Mute
Comfortable to hold and use, this remote is arthritis-friendly because the large buttons take no effort to press. The black print on white keys is easy to see, even for individuals who have low vision. Plus, all 6 buttons light up when pressed! After pressing any button, they will all remain lit for 4 seconds.

Set-up is easy. There are no codes to enter, just press a couple of buttons and the Tek Pal will set itself. In minutes, it will be ready to work with most TVs. (This remote can be used with a cable ready TV, but not with TVs that use a converter box. Please see the "Specifications" tab for more compatibility information.)

The buttons are straight forward and easy to differentiate. Triangular buttons represent the channel up and channel down functions as well as the volume up and volume down. The mute is a square button and the power button is round.

Compatibility (other devices)

* Works with most TVs. The exceptions usually include uncommon brands and extremely recent models. (As of January 2009 the Tek Pal is not compatible with any Element or Polaroid TVs.)

* The TV brand codes that program the remote to the TV are updated only once or twice a year, meaning the remote might not work with the latest model TVs.

* Cannot be used with DVD players, cable or satellite boxes or a digital-to-analog set-top converter box. It only works with television sets.

* Can be used with a cable ready TV, but not with TVs that use a cable or satellite box or a digital-to-analog converter boxes.

* According to the FCC, "If you have one or more televisions that receive free over-the-air television programming (with a roof-top antenna or "rabbit ears" on the TV), the type of TV you own is very important. A digital television (a TV with an internal digital tuner) will allow you to continue to watch free over-the-air programming after February 17, 2009. However, if you have an analog television, you will need a digital-to-analog converter box to continue to watch broadcast television on that set. This converter box will also enable you to see any additional multicast programming that your local stations are offering."
