that can easily be caused by bacteria found in spoiled food.

Bacteria found in spoiled food can cause mild to severe cases of gastroenteritis or "stomach flu" also known as food poisoning. In fact, when many people think they have a virus, it may be something they’ve eaten!

Timestrips^® are disposable, visual alarm clocks that clearly advise you of your food's expiration. These are great devices for those of use who forget how long something has been in the fridge. They are also very useful for nurses and caregivers who want a quick way to know what to throw out and what is safe to use, or to help ensure their patients will not eat expired foods on their own. Timestrips^® are particularly useful for people who have trouble reading those tiny little expiry dates on the packages.

Timestrips^® use an advancing bright red band to show the passage of time. The countdown begins when you peel off the backing paper and lightly burst the "start" bubble on the back of the strip. When the red band completely covers the white area, you know it is time to throw out the item.

We are currently offering Timestrips^® in 3 and 5 day time increments (choose the one most appropriate for the food you are labeling). These are calibrated specifically for use in the refrigerator (approx. 40ºF or 5ºC). Each pack comes with 25 Timestrips^®.

Don't let yourself or a loved one risk eating spoiled food. Stick on a Timestrip^® and it will remind you when to throw away food that could make you sick.

1. Peel the backing paper off the Timestrip^®.

2. Gently press the bubble on the back. Red will appear in the bubble to show that the cooler-strip is activated.

3. Apply the Timestrip^® label directly to the packaged food.

4. A red band appears in the first window to show that it is activated.

5. The red band of color will gradually travel across the white space as time elapses.

6. When the red band completely covers the white area, discard the food.
